You can’t believe this is happening.

At first, you keep living your life as if nothing is wrong. You’re probably thinking things like: “It’ll all blow over, and they’ll be fine tomorrow”,” or “They wouldn’t do that, this wouldn’t happen to me.”

Don’t beat yourself up once you realize that this is reality. You’re not the first person to face denial. This is just your brain saying, “Hey, this is really intense. I need more time to absorb the news so I can process it.” You may feel like the sideshow in someone else’s life, but in your life, you’re the main event.

Now is the time to put on your mental armor. Because, you’re going to leave the denial stage once you start to face the sorrow that you’ve been hiding.

That’s when the rollercoaster begins.
